Rewrites or Surviving Constructive Criticism

Well, the moment that I was dreading has come and gone. I received my first rewrites. I was terrified opening that file, worried what critique I would find scribbled in the margins of my beloved manuscript. I blanched when I saw the boxes lined up on the side and quickly closed the folder.
After the panic attack abated, I gave it another try. This time I read them and while they weren't too bad, they spooked me again.
This time I had a talk with my editor. I'm sure she was thinking what the heck is this chic's problem? But she was very patient and reassuring, and so, take three.
I managed to get the wind under my sails and started typing. Once I hit a flow it got a little easier and I powered through them all two days before deadline.
So now, again I wait and squirm.
I'm sure it will all be worth it when I see my words in print!
